5 Wrapping HACKS for the Holidays!

The holidays get busy fast. That is why now is the perfect time to set up a simple, well-lit wrapping station that makes gift wrapping feel like a pleasure instead of a chore. I actually look forward to wrapping gifts every year. I pick the perfect paper, match the ribbons just right, and turn the task into a cozy holiday ritual with classic Christmas music and something warm to sip.

Here are my five wrapping game changers.

  1. A Counter Height Folding Table

If you have ever wrapped presents on a dining table or card table, you know the bending and hunching can be murder on your back. I used to rely on my ironing board before I finally invested in a folding table that adjusts to a 36-inch counter height. Game changer. I leave it up for the whole season and wrap as I shop. My back is truly grateful. And it’s not just for wrapping but for any sorting project or party setup!

  1. A Dedicated Holiday Wrap Holder

Holiday paper deserves its own home. Keep Christmas and Hanukkah wrap separate from birthday and everyday supplies, since you only use them once a year.  I use a slim, flat organizer that tucks under the bed. Red for Christmas, grey for all the other wraps. If you prefer to store yours standing up, this also holds the super long rolls.  Either way, the key is a tidy, grab-and-go system.

  1. A Wrapping Paper Cutter

This little gadget makes slicing wrapping paper smooth, even, and honestly fun. I keep mine in my holiday wrap bin along with metallic Sharpies, festive tags, and my stash of matte clear tape.

  1. Storage for Ribbons and Bows

Years ago, I started saving ribbons and bows to reuse, and now I store them by color in simple plastic drawers on wheels. When wrapping season arrives, I just roll them over to my table, and I am ready to go.

  1. Wrap on the Diagonal to Save Paper

Want to make your wrapping paper stretch much farther? Try turning your gifts on the diagonal when you cut your paper. It is such a smart trick for using up those smaller scraps. Here is a quick YouTube demo that shows exactly how it works:

Setting up a dedicated wrapping area means fewer messes, less stress, and more joy all season long. Pour some warm cider, turn on “White Christmas”, and enjoy creating beautifully wrapped gifts without the chaos.
